Site Transfer

Transferring To Psyphire

Psyphire is committed to making it easy to transfer your site to your new Psyphire web hosting account and will provide upon request one free transfer for new accounts within 30 days of sign up.  We can transfer website files, databases, scripts, and one free domain registration transfer.

Sites with Active cPanel

Full cPanel transfers include all domains, Addon Domains, Subdomains, cPanel setting, emails, and email accounts. Please note that cPanel transfers require that your old host's cPanel backup generator is active.  Before cancelling your old hosting account, open a support ticket and provide us with the following information:

  • Login URL: A link to where you login to your old hosting accounts control panel. This can be the old host's home page.
  • Username: Your username for your old hosting account.
  • Password: Your password for your old hosting account.

If you prefer, you can also do this easily yourself by following these instructions:

  1. Sign into the cPanel control panel of your old account.
  2. Click on Files > Backup > Download a Full Website Backup and download a backup of your site
  3. Open a ticket and attach your site backup file.  All done!

Wordpress Sites

We can also easily transfer existing Wordpress sites. Before canceling your old hosting account, open a support ticket and provide us with the following information:

  • Current Site URL: The full URL to your Wordpress site at the old hosting location (example - http://www.yourdomain.com/blog/).
  • Server IP: The IP address to your Wordpress site at its old location.  Use this tool to find its IP address if you are uncertain by entering your domain name.
  • SSH Port: Usually this is 22.  Don't worry if you don't know what this is.
  • FTP Username: This can be your normal username, otherwise it's a username specific to FTP within your old account.
  • FTP Password: Same for the password.
  • Path: The path to your Wordpress site (example - public_html/blog).

If you prefer, you can also do this easily yourself by following these instructions:

  1. Install the All-In-One WP Migration plug-in for your site at the old location
  2. Using the plug-in, export a copy of your Wordpress site
  3. Sign up for a new hosting account with Psyphire
  4. Enable Wordpress from within your Control Panel: cPanel > Software > Installatron Applications Installer > Wordpress > Install this application
  5. Within Wordpress, install the same plug-in from Step 1
  6. Import the copy of your Wordpress web site into the new installation of Wordpress.  All done!
